How to measure your wrist size for bracelets?

Here at Xessories, we get many questions about how to measure your wrist size for bracelets. As our bracelets are sold online, it’s certain that a customer can’t try a bracelet on before they buy it. So, here is our wrist size measuring guide for you, to get the right fit.

Measuring a wrist size is important to get yourself a bracelet that fits perfectly on your wrist! But mind it, some bracelets are meant to just sit on your wrist, and some are there to be in perfect fit, so you have to look for the style you want. A tight and well fitted bracelet is not always the perfect choice.

But don’t worry, if you want to have an idea of the wrist size, there are many ways to measure it and none of them are difficult at all. Let’s not consume the time any further and get to the point. Follow the steps ahead to measure the bracelet size for your wrist.

Method 1:

Using the Measuring tape/ Thread / Ribbon / Paper method to find the circumference of the ring:

Things you need:

  1. Ruler/Scale or Measuring tape
  2. Thread / Strip of paper / Ribbon
  3. Marker / Pen
  4. Wrist (Obviously)

Process:

Step 1:  Nothing is easier than to just wrap the measuring tape around the wrist, and look for the size in the cm, that’s exactly the size of your wrist, and you can choose the bracelet accordingly. But if you don’t have a measuring tape, skip this step and move on!

Step 2:  Take the thread / Strip of paper / Ribbon and wrap it firmly around your wrist, where you wear your bracelet

Step 3:  Now carefully mark the exact point with the marker, where the thread overlaps the other edge of thread. You have to do it accurately, in order to get the right measurement in the next step.

Step 4:  Measure the marked part of the thread/paper with the cm side of the ruler. This is the circumference of your wrist, or in short the size of your bracelet

Step 5: Now understand your need, what kind of fit are you looking for, and add the measurement from the chart below to the actual wrist size you got from the steps above.

Fitting StyleAdd cm to wrist size
Snug FitAdd 1 cm to 1.5 cm
Comfort FitAdd 2 cm
Loose FitAdd 3 cm

Note: If your wrist size is measured as 17cm, you should go for at least 18cm for a snug fit, or a 19 cm for comfort fit, or 20 cm for a loose fit.

Useful Tips:

There are some factors that should be taken into consideration before finalizing the size of the bracelet you want to buy, and those are mentioned below. But one thing to keep in mind is that you measured the circumference of your wrist, and bracelet stores also mention the circumference of the bracelet by measuring it from the inside. You can’t just open a bracelet, straighten it up and measure its length, because that won’t be same as the circumference of the bracelet.

Average sizes:

Women: The average bracelet size range for women is between 16 cm and 18 cm.

Men: For men the sizes commonly range from 18 cm to 22 cm.

So if you have no other information available, it’s best to select between these ranges.
